Ryan Patrick Bonaminio, a 28-year-old police officer from Riverside, California, tragically lost his life on November 7, 2010. Officer Bonaminio was engaged in a foot pursuit in Fairmount Park when he encountered a suspect involved in a hit-and-run accident. During the chase, Bonaminio slipped and fell, at which point the suspect, Earl Ellis Green, struck him on the head with a metal pipe and disarmed him.
