Orlando Gentry, age 30, was fatally shot on September 19, 2017, in Kansas City, Missouri. The shooting occurred near the intersection of 50th Street and Troost Avenue, close to the University of Missouri-Kansas City campus. The incident resulted in Gentry's death at the scene. In connection with his death, a 23-year-old named Luis Rivas was later charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
