In the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 6, 2026, a 25-year-old man named Christopher Jones was fatally shot in Northeast Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred on the 100 block of North Drury Avenue, where residents were awakened around 2:00 a.m. by the sound of gunfire followed by a knock at their front door. Upon opening the door, the residents discovered Jones collapsing on their porch, suffering from gunshot wounds.
