On January 28, 2017, 22-year-old Darrious Smith was shot and killed in Kansas City, Missouri. Officers were dispatched around 4:17 a.m. to the scene near 29th and Prospect Avenue following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Smith with multiple gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
