In the early morning hours of June 4, 2016, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet near 38th Street and Park Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. Responding to a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 3:52 a.m., police discovered a silver Fiat with its doors open. Inside, they found the bodies of 64-year-old Terrell K. Nance and 53-year-old Marva L. Amrine, both of whom had been fatally shot at close range. More than 20 shell casings were recovered at the scene of the double homicide.
