Larry Wayne Pearson, a 20-year-old male, died on June 23, 1987. His death was a result of suffocation after being held captive for six weeks by Robert Berdella, a notorious serial killer known as the "Kansas City Butcher." Berdella, who was responsible for the deaths of at least six young men between 1984 and 1987, subjected Pearson to severe torture during his captivity. This included tying piano wire around his wrists with the intention of causing nerve damage.
