In the early afternoon of April 12, 2026, a fatal encounter unfolded in Kansas City, Missouri, that claimed the life of 51-year-old Marcus Gammage. Gammage, a tow truck driver, was found just after noon in his black Ford F-250 tow truck at 27th and Troost, suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Emergency services responded quickly, transporting him to a local hospital with critical injuries, but he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The investigation into the shooting
revealed a tense confrontation preceding the violence. Witnesses reported seeing a black Mercedes arrive at the scene, from which three men emerged and approached Gammage's tow truck. Investigators believe that Gammage was in the process of towing a vehicle connected to the suspect when the altercation occurred. Following the shooting, two of the men fled in the Mercedes, while the third left on foot.
Less than a week later, on April 16, an arrest was made in connection with the homicide. Josue Ceniceros-Angel was taken into custody after investigators found shell casings at his residence. Although he initially denied firing a weapon, he was subsequently charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon in Jackson County. A warrant was issued with a cash-only bond of $100,000. The case is now moving through the judicial system.
