34-year-old Xavier McLemore, a male of African American ethnicity, tragically died on October 26, 2020, in Austin, Texas. McLemore was fatally shot in a Southeast Austin shooting incident that occurred around 3 a.m. in the 2400 block of East Riverside Drive. According to the Austin Police Department , multiple 911 calls reported shots fired in the area, and when officers arrived, they found McLemore and another man with multiple gunshot wounds.
Both men were transported to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas, where McLemore was pronounced dead.
The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office ruled McLemore's death a homicide resulting from gunshot wounds. Preliminary information gathered by the APD indicated that the shooting might have been related to a drug dispute, as the area where the incident occurred is known for narcotics transactions.
