Douglas John Kantor, a 25-year-old man from Airmont, New York, tragically lost his life on June 12, 2021, in a mass shooting on Austin's Sixth Street. Kantor, who was visiting Austin from Michigan, was shot through the abdomen just below the rib cage and succumbed to his injuries at Dell Seton Medical Center. He was set to marry his high school sweetheart of 10 years and had recently completed his master's degree in business while working in the IT department at Ford Motor Company.
