Thomas Frederick Eckman, an 18-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, tragically lost his life on August 1, 1966, in Austin, Texas. He was one of the victims of the infamous University of Texas tower shooting carried out by Charles Whitman. On that fateful day, Thomas was with his girlfriend, Claire Wilson, who was eight months pregnant at the time. As they walked near the University of Texas campus, Whitman began his sniper attack from the observation deck of the university's tower.
