Death by Force

On the evening of May 29, 2024, at approximately 8:40 p.m., the Austin Police Department (APD) responded to reports of a shooting at the Avana SoCo Apartments, located at 401 Little Texas Lane in South Austin. Upon arrival, officers discovered 40-year-old Olvin Ponce-Aguilera with apparent gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical assistance from Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, Ponce-Aguilera was pronounced deceased at 9:50 p.m.
