Michael Lane, a 33-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, was tragically found dead on November 9, 2020, outside LuLu's Bakery and Cafe, north of downtown San Antonio. He was shot in the head, and several shell casings were discovered at the scene. Despite the investigation, no additional evidence has been found, and no arrests have been made as of yet.
The case took a significant turn when Clyde Poindexter, 42, was arrested and charged with Michael Lane's murder on April 22, 2021.
Surveillance video showed Poindexter confronting Lane in the parking lot before shooting him in the back alley behind the bakery. A witness was able to identify Poindexter as the suspect in the video. Poindexter was taken into custody and held in the Bexar County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
