On August 2, 2015, Kadesha M. Dawson, a 22-year-old resident of St. Louis, Missouri, was found shot multiple times in the driver’s seat of a red Pontiac Grand Prix. The car was parked in an alley at the rear of 5920 Era Avenue, with the engine still running when officers arrived at the scene at 11:15 a.m. Dawson, known to friends and family as "KayKay," became another tragic victim of gun violence in a year that saw high numbers of homicides across St. Louis.
