In the Hyde Park neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, the evening of January 13, 2023, was shattered by a grim discovery. Responding to a call for help shortly after 8 p.m., police officers made their way to an alley in the 4200 block of N. 21st Street. There, inside a running vehicle, they found 27-year-old Tamera Plummer. She had been fatally shot in the face and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the violent death of the young woman from Lovejoy, Illinois,
quickly led authorities to two individuals. One, a 22-year-old man, was arrested in connection with the shooting. However, the Circuit Attorney's Office declined to press charges, citing a lack of sufficient evidence to proceed with a prosecution.
The focus of the investigation then shifted to another man, 30-year-old Wesley White. In a significant development, White was subsequently arrested and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action for his alleged role in Tamera Plummer's death.
