He was visiting family for the summer when he was fatally struck by a stray bullet while playing video games in his apartment at the Gates of Capernum Apartments on the West Side. The bullet came from a nearby shootout that occurred in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
Tristian was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The San Antonio Police Department responded to the scene and found evidence, including shell casings and a blood trail, scattered around the complex. They also discovered a gun inside a locked parked car, but it was not immediately determined if the gun was connected to the shooting. Officers launched a helicopter to search for suspects but did not find them.
