On March 11, 2020, 76-year-old Sixto Martinez of Dora, Alabama, was fatally injured in a head-on collision on Bagley Road near Trammel Road in the Corner community. The incident occurred at approximately 9:25 a.m. Martinez was a passenger in a Chevrolet Equinox traveling northbound when a southbound vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with his vehicle. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
