Tyler James Knight, a 33-year-old male from Amarillo, TX, passed away on November 7, 2022. Tyler was born on May 8, 1989, and worked in roofing construction. He enjoyed playing video games, tattoos, listening to music, and drawing. Tyler is survived by his daughter, Skylar Knight, stepson, Caleb Robb, son, Chris Knight, mother, Toni Livy, and brother, Tyson Sigler.

On November 7, 2022, Tyler James Knight and Bethany Marie Mullican, a 28-year-old female, were found shot to death at Lakeview Mobile Home Park in Amarillo, TX. The Amarillo Police Department responded to the scene and initiated a homicide investigation. The primary suspect in the case was Tyler's 15-year-old son, Chris Lee Knight. Chris was taken into custody on November 8, 2022, in Judsonia, Arkansas, after being located with his father's stolen cell phone and car, as well as a .45 handgun.

Chris Lee Knight was indicted for capital murder by a Randall County grand jury on January 27, 2023. The indictment charged him with the capital murder of multiple persons, specifically his father, Tyler James Knight, and Bethany Marie Mullican. The case was transferred to adult criminal court due to the severity of the offense and the poor prospects for rehabilitation within the juvenile system. Chris Knight is currently being held at the Youth Center of the High Plains.

The investigation revealed that Chris Knight allegedly shot both Tyler Knight and Bethany Mullican during the same criminal transaction. The court documents cited several reasons for transferring the case to adult criminal court, including the violent and willful nature of the offense, the use of a firearm, and the resulting deaths of the victims. Chris Knight has pleaded not guilty to the charges and awaits further legal proceedings.
