On November 17, 2022, Arne Ray Jake Richardson, a 36-year-old man from Houston, Texas, was fatally shot at an apartment complex near NRG Park. Richardson and his girlfriend encountered a group of individuals, including 17-year-old Zourian Stephon Lewis, breaking into multiple vehicles in the parking lot.
