Oscar Reyes, a 21-year-old Hispanic male, tragically lost his life on February 27, 2017, in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred in northeast Harris County and was described as a possible road rage incident. According to reports, Oscar Reyes and his pregnant wife were driving down Aldine Westfield Road just before 1 a.m. when their vehicle was struck from behind by a new model Tahoe.
When Oscar Reyes stepped out of the vehicle to check the damage, the driver of the Tahoe opened fire, killing him. The suspect, described as a Hispanic man with a muscular build, little or no hair, and tattoos, fled the scene. Oscar Reyes fell into the roadway and was subsequently run over by a second vehicle, which did not stop to render aid.
The investigation into Oscar Reyes' death revealed that the couple's car had broken down on the side of the road when another vehicle pulled up behind them. The driver of the white or silver Tahoe, possibly an Escalade, began honking their horn before pushing the vehicle Reyes and his wife were in. A confrontation ensued when Oscar Reyes stepped out of the vehicle, leading to the suspect shooting him multiple times before fleeing the scene. The authorities are still searching for the white or silver Chevy pickup truck involved in the incident.
