Tyrone Young, a 24-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on December 12, 2022, in Austin, Texas. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 2:30 a.m., in the parking lot of a business located in the 11900 block of North Interstate 35 southbound service road. According to the Austin Police Department , officers and EMS arrived at the scene to find Young unresponsive on the ground with a gunshot wound.
Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Tyrone Young had attempted to rob an unidentified person inside a game room located within the business premises. During the attempted robbery, another individual inside the game room confronted Young and shot him. Young then walked into the parking lot, where he collapsed and succumbed to his injuries. The APD has classified this incident as a homicide and has been actively investigating the case.
