On the night of February 27, 2020, a tragedy unfolded at a Marathon gas station on the north side of Indianapolis that claimed the life of 29-year-old Maninder Singh. Just before 11 p.m., police were dispatched to the station, located at the corner of East 30th Street and College Avenue, following a report of a possible shooting.
Upon entering the convenience store, officers discovered Maninder Singh suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate response from medics, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide detectives were called in to begin the arduous task of piecing together the events that led to the young man's death.
In the days that followed, the Marion County Coroner's office officially identified the victim, but details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting remained scarce. Law enforcement officials confirmed that they were actively investigating the case as a homicide but did not publicly release any information regarding a potential suspect or suspects. To date, there have been no announcements of any arrests made in connection with the murder of Manjinder Singh as the investigation continues.
