In the early morning hours of June 19, 2026, the life of 35-year-old Eric D. Butler was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire on the east side of Indianapolis. Responding to a call of a person shot at approximately 2:15 a.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the 200 block of South Franklin Road, near the hum of Interstate 465, to find Butler inside a car, suffering from gunshot wounds.
