On October 19, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred on the near east side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 33-year-old Alejandro Sandoval. The incident took place in the 1600 block of East Ohio Street, between Arsenal Avenue and State Avenue. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers responded to the scene just before 1 p.m. after receiving a report of a person shot.
