Upon arriving at the scene around 2:30 a.m., first responders discovered the body of Hubert A. Holmes, a 21-year-old Black male, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Authorities declared him dead at the location, marking the city's 86th homicide of that year.
Investigators processed the scene in the Midtown area, searching for evidence that might explain the violent encounter that claimed the young man's life.
