Howell Jackson "Bud" Lynch, born on November 13, 1879, in Carthage, Tennessee, was a dedicated lawman who served as a Prohibition Agent. On July 6, 1922, while on duty in Gainesboro, Tennessee, Agent Lynch, along with a local deputy sheriff, conducted a raid on an illegal still.
