Jason Montrell Delaney, a 43-year-old Black man from Memphis, Tennessee, died on March 25, 2021, after a predawn shooting inside an apartment at Treasure Island East in the Residences at Lakeview, off South Mendenhall Road. In the early morning hours, police arrived to find him down on the bathroom floor with gunshot wounds to his neck and upper back. He was rushed to a hospital, but he did not survive.
