Sergeant Andy Thaddeus Bailey, aged 52, was a dedicated officer with the Jackson Police Department in Tennessee. On June 17, 2004, he tragically lost his life in the line of duty. Sgt. Bailey was involved in a high-speed vehicle pursuit that began when a robbery suspect grabbed a woman's purse at Old Hickory Mall and fired a shot in the air as he fled. Responding officers engaged in a pursuit that ended on North Highland Avenue, where the suspect crashed into two vehicles and continued on foot.
