On April 9, 2022, 19-year-old Charles Tyus Jr., a young man from Jackson, Tennessee, tragically lost his life. The incident occurred around 4:35 a.m. when officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of East Deadrick Street and North Hayes Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Charles Tyus Jr. in his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. The Jackson Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide, which remains ongoing.
