On a Sunday morning in Knoxville, Tennessee, the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church was filled with the sounds of a children's musical performance. Among the congregation on July 27, 2008, was Gregory 'Greg' McKendry, a 60-year-old man known for his kindness and dedication to the church. What began as a joyful event quickly turned into a scene of terror when a man armed with a shotgun entered the sanctuary and opened fire.
