Greg McKendry, a 60-year-old white male, was tragically killed on July 27, 2008, in Knoxville, Tennessee. McKendry was a member of the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, where he was attending a children's play when the incident occurred. The assailant, Jim David Adkisson, a 58-year-old white male, entered the church and opened fire with a 12-gauge shotgun.
