In the late hours of a September evening in 1969, Murel Marie, a 61-year-old man, was seen at Buch's Tavern on North Gay Street in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was in the company of Hubert Johnson, and the two were reportedly heading to the North Gay Cafe. This would be the last time they were seen alive. The following day, on September 13, 1969, a grim discovery was made near Mead's Quarry.
