In the winter of 2014, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the life of 24-year-old Robert McClure was abruptly ended. On the first of February, a confrontation inside his own trailer on Hixson Avenue turned fatal. An argument escalated, and Christopher Levi Parker, who had a previous dispute with McClure, drew a gun and fired a single shot to McClure's head. He died at the scene.
Parker was quickly identified as the suspect and was arrested shortly after the incident.
He faced charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault for his actions. Witnesses to the tragic event recounted that Parker had made threats toward McClure before ultimately pulling the trigger. The weapon used in the killing had been stolen by Parker the night before the shooting.
During legal proceedings, the court described the act as a 'cold-blooded' killing and set a substantial bond for Parker at $800,000. The case was eventually bound over to the Grand Jury for further action. It was revealed that Parker had a criminal history that included charges of burglary, felony meth possession, and driving offenses. The prosecution put forth the argument that Parker was under the influence of drugs and had a clear motive to settle his personal conflict with McClure. One witness, who was present during the shooting, cooperated with authorities despite receiving threats from Parker, providing testimony against him.
