Justin Dewayne "J-Rock" Peoples, Sr., a 27-year-old Black man from Chattanooga, TN, tragically passed away on August 4, 2020. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and youth pastor who was fatally stabbed and shot at a Chevron gas station in Tracy, California, on March 15, 2022. The suspects, Christine Lyn Garner and Jeremy Wayne Jones, were arrested and charged with murder, with the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office alleging the crime was motivated by racial hatred.
