In the early morning hours of October 9, 2016, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the life of Jimmy Lamont McCane, a 33-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. McCane was at a bar on Wilder Street when a gun battle erupted. Caught in the crossfire of a conflict he had no part in, he was fatally shot. Law enforcement officials later stated that McCane was an innocent bystander to the violence that claimed his life.
