A 51-year-old Black or African American man, Tracy Lebron Freeman, was shot and killed in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on the evening of June 7, 2021. The incident occurred on Peeples Street, where Freeman was found with a gunshot wound. Born on August 7, 1969, Freeman was a father and brother, remembered by his family.

The Chattanooga Police Department investigated the shooting as a homicide. Their investigation led to the identification of a suspect.
