In the summer of 2020, the life of Dequan Kentrand 'QueePee' Scott, a 27-year-old Black male from Chattanooga, Tennessee, was tragically cut short. On the night of June 30, 2020, gunshots rang out in the 4400 block of Kemp Drive. Scott was struck by a bullet, sustaining a life-threatening injury. He was transported in a private vehicle to a local hospital, arriving in critical condition.
Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on July 1, 2020.
Dequan Scott was a 2012 graduate of Brainerd High School and was employed as a technician at Gestamp. He was a father to two sons, Auki Scott and Messiah Scott. His death left a profound impact on his family, friends, and the wider Chattanooga community.
The Chattanooga Police Department's Violent Crimes Bureau launched an investigation into the homicide. However, the case has proven to be challenging for law enforcement. To date, no suspect information has been released to the public, and no arrests have been made in connection with Dequan Scott's murder. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in bringing a resolution to the case and providing answers for his grieving loved ones.
