Just after the New Year began in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on January 1, 2015, the life of 24-year-old Deoaunte M. Dean was tragically cut short. A Black male and father of four, Dean was inside his home on Dorris Street when he was fatally shot. The incident was one of three separate shootings that marked a violent start to the new year in the city.
