Sgt. 1st Class Michael W. Braden, a 45-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity from Ripley, Tennessee, was tragically shot and killed on July 9, 2014, at the National Guard armory in Lobelville, Tennessee. Braden, who had served in the Tennessee Army National Guard for 27 years, was supervising daily operations at the armory when he was shot in the chest.
