On July 22, 2015, 40-year-old Jesse Sliepenbeek, a male of Dutch ethnicity, was fatally shot in the chest at Kings Crossing Apartments in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when Sliepenbeek returned to the apartment to retrieve some belongings. He was unarmed at the time and was shot by Dewey Abbott III, who was 59 years old at the time.
