A 23 year old man is shot and killed during a home invasion
Cedrick Herbert, aged 23, was shot and killed execution-style on June 15, 2009, while staying at a friend's apartment in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The homicide took place in a particularly gruesome manner; investigators believe that Cedrick was asleep when intruders forced their way into the apartment. He was awakened, forced to kneel, and then shot three times in the back of the head. His friend, who returned home around 9:00 a.m., discovered his body.
