In the early morning hours of Saturday, October 17, 2015, in the small community of Turtletown, Tennessee, a violent encounter left two people with gunshot wounds and a family shattered. Annie Marie Gober, a 45-year-old female, and a male companion, Chuck Adams, were discovered shot and lying in a driveway. Both were airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga for treatment.
Tragically, Annie Gober succumbed to her injuries and passed away.
The investigation into the shooting quickly led law enforcement to identify suspects. A few days after the incident, police arrested 52-year-old Eddie Dale Rice of Sweetwater and charged him with first-degree murder in connection with Gober's death. Shortly thereafter, a second suspect, Theresa Rice, the wife of Eddie Dale Rice, was also taken into custody. Both were held without bond as the investigation continued.
