James Pete McCarroll, a 71-year-old male from Coalfield, Tennessee, was found dead on April 18, 2016. He was discovered outside Allied Metal Recovery and Refining on Gouge Hollow Road, where he worked. McCarroll, a Vietnam veteran and cancer survivor, was known to carry a significant amount of cash, which authorities believe may have been the motive for his murder.
