In a tragic incident in LaFollette, Tennessee, 19-year-old Jonathan Ian Brown was found deceased on August 3, 2022. The discovery was made at a residence on Log Home Lane after concerns were raised when the family could not be reached. This followed the natural death of the family's patriarch just a week prior. A welfare check was requested when a friend was unable to make contact with any of the family members.
Upon their arrival, deputies from the Campbell County Sheriff's Office found
the family's vehicles in the driveway but received no response from inside the home. After forcing entry, they discovered the bodies of Jonathan Ian Brown and three of his family members. The other victims were identified as his mother, 55-year-old Daisy Irene Brown, his 29-year-old brother, John Matthew Brown, and his 27-year-old sister, Michelle Kara Brown.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was called to assist the Campbell County Sheriff's Office in the investigation. Authorities have stated that they are investigating the case as a suspected murder-suicide. At this time, no information has been released regarding a specific suspect, and no arrests have been made as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths continues. Prior to the incident, dispatch records show that officers had responded to a neighbor dispute call at the same address the previous month.
