In the early days of January 2024, the life of 37-year-old David White, a male truck driver from North Carolina, was tragically cut short in East Nashville, Tennessee. His body was discovered inside the cab of his semi-truck on January 8th, parked on Lucas Lane adjacent to a Love's Travel Center. An employee of the travel center made the grim discovery after White's company requested a welfare check when they were unable to reach him.
The last time anyone reported seeing White alive was at 7:20 p.m. the previous evening when he was buying food at the travel center. Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate what was determined to be a fatal shooting.
The investigation into White's death led authorities to identify a vehicle of interest, a four-door Dodge Ram 1500 Classic Quad Cab pickup truck, believed to be the vehicle the assailant or assailants used to arrive at and flee the scene. The truck was described as having tinted windows, black rims, chrome door handles, and a chrome RAM emblem on the rear.
A significant breakthrough in the case came with the arrests of two individuals in Florida. Charvelle Clark, 46, of California, and Nikki Landry, 36, of Louisiana, were apprehended during a traffic stop by the Florida Highway Patrol. Initially held as fugitives from Nashville, they were later extradited back to Tennessee to face charges in connection with White's murder. Landry, who is also known as Nikki O'Brien, and Clark were indicted on second-degree murder charges. Investigators believe that a dispute between the three individuals resulted in the fatal shooting of David White.
