In the spring of 2016, a young man’s life was cut short in Memphis, Tennessee. Ricky Irving, a 21-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on May 1, 2016. His death left a void in the lives of those who knew him, a resident of Memphis born on November 24, 1994. A memorial service to honor his life was held on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Superior Funeral Home on McLemore Avenue, followed by a burial at New Halliburton.
