In the early hours of a Sunday morning on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee, a night of remembrance turned into a scene of tragedy for the family of Taquan Smith. The 26-year-old father of five was out with relatives on April 10, 2022, to celebrate the life of a recently deceased family member. As the group was leaving a venue called The Green Room at approximately 2 a.m., an argument erupted between them and another group of people.
