Death by Force

On May 15, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., 24-year-old Cameron Newby was fatally shot while assisting a woman with taking out the trash on Heard Avenue in North Memphis. A white Nissan Maxima approached, executed a U-turn, and an occupant opened fire, striking Newby. He was transported to Regional One Hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries.
