On August 27, 2022, 19-year-old Layfaye King was fatally shot in Blytheville, Arkansas. Responding to reports of a shooting on the 1100 block of East Cherry Street, police discovered King suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
