On the night of July 13, 2016, 32-year-old Michael J. Moran, a White male, was found shot in the parking lot of the Pine Brook Apartments on Hickory Hill Lane in the Hermitage neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee. Emergency services discovered Moran with gunshot wounds to his torso and leg. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Investigations into the shooting revealed that Moran, a resident of
the apartment complex, had allegedly arranged to meet a drug dealer outside his home that evening. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a Black male wearing a white T-shirt fleeing the area in a black, four-door vehicle shortly after the gunshots were heard. The lack of bullet casings found at the scene led investigators to believe that a revolver may have been used in the commission of the crime.
Despite the witness accounts and the ongoing investigation by the Metro Nashville Police Department, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Michael Moran. The case remains unsolved, and the suspect remains at large. Authorities have previously appealed to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of the individual responsible for Moran's death. A funeral service for Michael Moran was held on July 22, 2016, at the New Hope Baptist Church in Hermitage.
