In the late hours of a December night in 2017, a dispute inside a Nashville hookah bar tragically escalated, ending the life of 30-year-old Jason McClain, an African-American man. The incident, which unfolded outside the Cloud IX Hookah Bar and Lounge, stemmed from a verbal altercation that led to McClain's removal from the establishment by security personnel.
