In the late hours of a Wednesday evening in Nashville, Tennessee, a man found solace in his vehicle, a familiar routine of listening to music under the quiet of the night. On June 19, 2019, this peaceful habit turned tragic for 31-year-old Eric Bell Jr. While sitting in his car in the parking lot of the Point Breeze Apartments on Lemont Drive, his life was abruptly cut short.
That night, at approximately 11:40 p.m., two unidentified men approached the vehicle and opened fire, fatally
wounding Bell. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The assailants, described by authorities only as two Black men, fled after the shooting, leaving behind a community in shock and a family to grapple with a senseless loss.
